An FAQ should reduce uncertainty, not fill space
Generic questions written for keywords do little for customers. A useful FAQ addresses eligibility, process, price context, timing, responsibilities, risks, and next steps using answers that the business can keep accurate.
What to review
- Collect questions that repeatedly affect customer decisions.
- Answer directly before adding exceptions or supporting detail.
- Use native headings and buttons for accordions with visible focus and expanded state.
- Keep important answers available in crawlable text and update them when operations change.
A practical implementation plan
- Gather questions
Use calls, forms, support, sales, and project retrospectives rather than inventing a list.
- Place by context
Add answers to the service or process page where the question naturally occurs.
- Test interaction
Verify keyboard, screen reader, zoom, touch target, print, and no-JavaScript fallbacks where relevant.
What to measure
Review FAQ interactions, reduced repeated questions, page continuation, form quality, accessibility issues, and content freshness. Do not mark up answers that are not visible to visitors.
Connect the insight to the customer journey
Link answers to deeper service, pricing, project, or contact pages when the customer needs more than a short explanation.
